Only one in hundred sex offenders are convicted in New Zealand. Yet one in four female and one in six males are victims of sexual abuse.

Conviction rates have to increase if we are to have any chance at stopping sexual abuse.

We all need to play our part and be aware of the historical biases around sexual abuse that impact on our ability to hear victims stories.

Pay attention to yourself and the people around you and how these biases impact on questions of truth.

Whether you are on a jury or hearing a abuse story in the media don't let bias and prejudice prevent you from seeing the sex offenders among us.
