The intention of our program is to provide guidance and support to build the expertise and capability of a trauma informed workforce within the community. A more equipped workforce will reduce stress and burn out amongst current trauma professionals and increase responsiveness to victims of trauma thereby creating a supportive net or tautoko kupenga for trauma within the community.
Our mentorship team is led by Mary Wikaira and Ciaran Torrington. Providing mentorship as a team with individual mentees they promote a Trauma Informed Te Whare Tapa Wha approach for therapists within the psychological, social and physical therapies.
